Editing pdf files...for FREE!!

I don't know how useful this tip will be...but I have always hated how some documents we are required to fill out are in a PDF form and we are unable to type our information in. For me this really sucks since I have crappy handwriting.

Well..I found a site that will allow you to fill out the PDF document, print it, save it, export it etc. currently it is in BETA. The interface is a little cumbersome compared to some 'pay' tools, such as PDF filler ...who I do NOT recommend even though there tool is very nice....only because I spent an hour filling out my document before I was informed there was a cost. If I would have researched the site before using I would of have known this already.
But...either way I found a site called PDFescape that is for FREE.
If you have a need to type on a PDF form...here it is.

Songbird 1.0!!!

I have been beta testing a music player for the last couple of years that I really like. Although it was free for anyone to download I never had mentioned it to many people as it was a developer version and had some bugs here and there.

Well the just came out with version 1.0 and it appears to be a non-dev version.

Check them out! It is a very clean player, easy to grab online music streams as well as will recognize and work with your Ipod (or other MP3 players).
One thing I have always liked about open source applications is that the development is not limited to one persons vision. There are many addons (there is even a new one that lists when artists in your library are having concerts in your area!)

This is also a skinnable application so you can change the look/feel of it if you like.

The name is Songbird , just click on the name to download (redirects to their download page)
Check out their logo..

(this is fully there logo an in no way am I representing that I created it, only sharing because I like the look/feel)

Get back your Playlist.com player.

I have seen several blogs out there that are using the Playlist.com player and are ending up with players that are missing scroll bars and you can't see or adjust the volume.

Well, I haven't used the Player until recently and did a little research (mainly on the Playlist.coms own blog) and found how to adjust the size so it fits into the sidebar provided by Blogger and you can use all the controls.

You can also opt to put the Player in the bottom element or make your sidebar wider to fit the default player created by Playlist.com.

I will visit only changing the width of the player as this will maintain most typical blogger layouts.
It is actually very easy.
  1. Go to your 'Layout' tab. (If your editing/creating a post this will be right on the top left. If you in your 'Dashboard' just click the 'Layout' link for you blog.)
  2. Now click on the 'Edit' link for where your player is located. In here change all the 'width' to 200 (as your sidebar is set to 220) and your height can be anywhere from where it is at by default (270) or up as high as you need it. (I set mine to 500). Once this is done you can click 'Save' and all should now work correctly.

Second issue I will be addressing is how to turn off the 'auto play' feature. Nothing is more annoying than when browsing a blog and someone elses music begins playing without user initiation. (at least for me anyway).

The easiest way to accomplish this is to log into your Playlist.com account:
  1. Click the click post playlist then choose option E.
  2. Set auto start "no"
  3. Set whether to random play or not
  4. Choose your color
  5. Get code
  6. Make sure to edit your widths and heights
  7. Copy the code and paste into your blog sidebar element.
Now you have a playlist that not only fits in your sidebar, but doesnt autostart on you.
